The commission came from a freiend and Tai Chi teacher after I had orginally built and branded a new website for her to promte a planned move to the USA. The original site was hand coded and the new commission was an opportunity to play with WordPress and to focus on building a website around the SEO requirements for the brief.

In particular we wanted the site to rank for the search term “tai chi boulder” and “tai chi colorado”. Both of these aims were quickly achieved with the assistance of some ‘local’ SEO tactics. Tactics which were then soon adopted by the competition. None the less the website still ranks high on both search terms and has brought Master Mei a lot of new students for her school in the USA.

Another key requirement for the brief was that the site should be linked into social media such as FaceBook and in particular MeetUp which is a site Mei had already been using to find new students. We accomplished this and included a MeetUp calendar on the websitre so that Mei could coordinate all her activities through one diary.

In addition we shot and edited a number of new videos of Mei at her school in China and I branded these with a logo and strap line, uploading them to Mei’s new YouTube channel. Initially I also provided blog content for the new site until Mei was confident with providing her own material for the stream.
